1. Based on the knowledge gained from any session in the SOAR program were you able to utilize any of the tools at work?

Comment: All the courses have been extremely valuable, but maneuvering adversity in the Empowerment session has been the most useful to me in my workplace.
2. As a result of the training, did you gain confidence to approach management with new ideas?

Comment: I have sought 2 leadership roles professionally since taking the course. They really validated my personal value and self esteem.
3. As a result of the knowledge gained, were you able to leverage your strengths to improve your processes.

Comment: All the sessions were exceptional in the approach to challenging team leaders to think. The instruction was very introspective – each of us were able to take the tools and apply to our individual scenario. The tools are definitely flexible and quite valuable.
4. Were you able to take any of the information, ideas, and/or tools presented in the workshops and incorporate it into your daily work?

Comment: Several of the activities, including the strength finders, which was introduced to our entire department.
5. Have you incorporated any of the workshop information, ideas, and/or tools into a plan to help strengthen your leadership development?

Commen :t I’ve incorporated at least one element from each session regimen, either personally or professionally.
6. Regardless of whether you’ve used the information, ideas, and/or tools for your leadership development, do you feel that you have personally benefited in some way from attending the workshops?

Comment: The networking has been priceless – I feel I have gained insight into other divisions and made acquaintances which I otherwise would not have. The core lessons carry over into any job, any level if you are open to embracing the information.
7. Do you feel motivated and encouraged to continue to develop your leadership capability?

Comment: I think this series was very motivating. It was good personally but also enriching to have the broader discussions regarding the company. Participation was excellent and I felt higher engagement after leaving.
8. Has your management team noticed any change in your leadership since completing the program?

Comment: Yes. I show more confidence in my interactions with staff-level management as well as my leadership style.
9. Does the SOAR program material offer new and relevant training that is not available to you through local or our corporate schools, workshops, and internal initiatives, etc?

Comment: There are parts of the program that are similar to the training available in our corporate schools, however, I do not feel there was duplication of training that I’ve received. I can see some of this the training as topics for our corporate school. It was good to discuss topics from a different perspective.

These meetings are more in-depth and on target than other programs I’ve participated in. The readings get you thinking and are great discussion starters. The meetings give you tools to take back to work and begin to use. The 360 feedback was a real eye opener for me. It helped me pinpoint my strengths and weaknesses and I’ve been able to identify areas to work on for improvements. This instrument proved to be a good way to see what my direct reports, supervisors and coworkers think about my leadership and management style.

The SOAR program was a wonderful experience and advantageous in my leadership development. It enabled me to identify, understand and apply my leadership styles in various situations using a variety of tools. My experience with SOAR has been unlike any other Leadership Program I have attended and I have benefited a great deal from the program. A couple of specific areas come to mind. The first would be regarding the topics covered during each session. Each topic has been relevant to the challenges I face day to day. As such, each session has provided helpful tools and reading material for use with my team back at the office. The second benefit area is with the relationships I have been able to form with peers in my immediate community. As a working mom with a management level position, it is difficult to reach out and build this type of meaningful network.
